Who Am I?
My name is Meghan Hood and I am a second year bachelor of Business and Creative Industries student at QUT. My major in Business is currently Management and my Creative Industries major is Fashion Communications.
Whilst being a full time student, committed to my studies, I am working casually at Witchery Indooroopilly. This position at Witchery provides me with flexibility due to my uni commitments and any other work experience placements I gain. Witchery has taught me the fundamental skills of customer service, styling and time management. I love styling and interacting with customers to help them find the right pieces that flatter their body. Witchery has helped me to master thinking on my feet and manage a team as I often run a busy Saturday.

In October in 2017, I had the privilege in participating in a two-day work experience with Channel 7 News. This opportunity was beneficial for me as an aspiring creative, as I will gained insight into the world of a major media outlet.

As a person, I like to stand out and stand up, meaning I dress and act in a way that makes me different so I can create my own personal look. I stand up, meaning I believe in standing up for what I believe in or someone who I believe in when it is appropriate. I come from a creative family that appreciates fashion, art, music and architecture.

Additionally, my parents are realestate agents and business owners, so I have grown up in an environment that has a strong element of sales and discussions about property and negotiation. Business is a strong interest of mine as I completed a diploma of Business in my final year of studies at St Aidan's Anglican Girls School. I believe the skills you learn in business are vital to a successful career and understanding how the economy functions day to day.
